May 10th, University Feast in memory of Blessed Álvaro del Portillo, with the sculptor JAGO
On Friday, May 10th, 2024, the annual University Feast was held in memory of Blessed Álvaro del Portillo, our founder and first Grand Chancellor.
As a special guest, the artist and sculptor JAGO, pseudonym of Jacopo Cardillo, was invited, known for his numerous exhibitions and installations in various countries. In 2011, at just 24 years old, he participated in the Venice Biennale. As stated on his website: "His artistic research is rooted in traditional techniques. JAGO uses marble as a noble material, but addresses fundamental themes of the era he inhabits, establishing a direct relationship with the audience through the use of video and social networks, to share the production process."
The schedule for the Feast:
- 10:45 AM - Meeting-discussion with JAGO in the "Giovanni Paolo II" Auditorium
- 12:45 PM - Holy Mass at the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare presided over by the Rector, Luis Navarro. The Celebration was animated by the Choir of the Roman College of the Holy Cross
