At 11 AM, the solemn Academic Act took place in the Aula Magna in the presence of the Grand Chancellor and Prelate of Opus Dei, Mons. Fernando Ocáriz, and the new Rector of the University of the Holy Cross, Rev. Prof. Fernando Puig, who took office on October 1.
This year's inaugural lecture was delivered by the Secretary of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, Mons. Pagazzi, on the theme "The University as a Home of Study."
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Holy Cross, the Communication Services have designed a commemorative logo to accompany the informational materials for the 2024-2025 Academic Year.
The academic community has also expressed the need to identify a new institutional motto that adequately reflects the University's mission and vision. In a spirit of consultation, all teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as students, have been invited to submit their preferences via a digital form.
A photography contest has also been announced for students, professors, and administrative staff. Participants are encouraged to capture the most significant moments of their university experience through photography.
